Even though I haven’t had much going on with my blog or new designs coming out lately, I have been very busy with upcoming designs and they have finally started to arrive! I have one pattern in the Autumn 2014 issue of Crochet! magazine – the Ribs and Leather Tote.
This is one of my favorite patterns I have designed so far. We went to Colorado for Christmas and I got a lot of drive time to work on it. Very pleased with how it turned out and I think the photography on this one is outstanding. To see more or order online visit Crochet! Magazine’s Website.
I have a lot of reasons why I have been MIA lately. One of which has been my day job – I teach high school Family and Consumer Sciences (you may remember it as Home Economics) and our school is switching from block scheduling, where we have four 90 minute classes a day, to a 7 period day and the classes are only 47 minutes each. Block scheduling is on a semester schedule and you get new classes in January, but the 7 periods are all year, so I am really having to redo all of my lessons. Not to mention the state of Tennessee decided to release all new standards for my area this year! So I will be teaching a class I have never taught before and totally revamping all of my others. It has been keeping me really busy! But I am definitely making time for crochet, too – and even have a few ideas for free patterns to be released soon, so be sure to keep checking back!
